The MINI Challenge is the Middle East’s only motor racing championship in which all the cars are unmodified versions of the same model. It is also the only local Bahrain motor race series. With a heritage stretching back to the 1950s, the MINI Challenge provides an opportunity for aspiring racing drivers to compete safely in motor sport.
The Championship is organised by Euro Motors - the exclusive importer for BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce cars and BMW motorcycles in the Kingdom – in conjunction with the Bahrain Motor Federation. It features unmodified MINI Cooper Club Sport cars, with identical specifications and engine capacity racing either against each other or the clock, providing a true test of a driver’s skills and adaptability.
Each of the MINI Cooper Club Sport cars is sponsored by a local company. They compete in a variety of races designed to test the drivers’ skills and knowledge, including circuit races, sprints and other timed events. 2005 is the first year that drag racing was introduced into this series.
